      Search any city or landmark, or paste your whole itinerary. Choose plane, train, car, bus, boat, bike or on foot for each leg, and add a photo to any stop.

    2. Pick a look

      Expedition is the classic adventure-film map: parchment, a red line and a little plane. Clean, Night and Atlas suit modern edits.

    3. Download the MP4

      1080p at 30 fps in 16:9, 9:16 or 1:1. Drop it straight into CapCut, Premiere, Final Cut, iMovie or DaVinci Resolve.

    Is it really free?

    Yes. No account, no watermark and no export limit. Rendering happens on your own computer, which is why it costs nothing to run.

    Are my photos or trip uploaded anywhere?

    Photos never leave your device: they are read and drawn in your browser. When you search, the text you type is sent to the Photon place search, and map tiles load from OpenFreeMap. A share link contains your stop names and coordinates, but never photos.

    How do I make the “Indiana Jones” travel map effect?

    Choose the Expedition look. You get an aged paper map, a red line that draws itself between stops and a plane that follows it — the classic adventure-film travel sequence. MapReel isn’t affiliated with any film.

    Do the lines follow real roads or flight paths?

    No. Legs are drawn as smooth, stylised arcs between your stops, like a travel-show map. They show the order of your trip, not the exact road or flight route.

    Can I use the video in monetised YouTube videos or client work?

    Yes, the video is yours to use. The map data is © OpenStreetMap contributors and must stay credited; the small credit line is already in the corner of every video.

    Which browsers work?

    Current Chrome, Edge, Safari or Firefox. A computer is fastest; phones work but take longer. Keep the tab open while the video renders.

    Why did my stop land in the wrong place?

    Search picks the best match for the text you type. Add the region or country (for example “Cambridge, Massachusetts”), then remove the wrong stop.
